Do We Spray?

Yes we do, but in an ecologically sustainable manner through a system of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Good News! Over the years, by following the IPM, we have reduced the amount of spray material applied to our apples by 50% to 60%. The last spray is usually applied by the end of July.

Welcome

Mountain Orchards was originally established in 1932 with the majority of the trees being direct descendants from the original McIntosh tree, first discovered by John McIntosh in Dundela, Ontario, in 1829.

Increasing demand and encouragement from our customers over the years have prompted us to expand the farm to 20 acres of orchard.

Opening our orchard to the public for pick-your-own has always been important to us. This gives the whole family the opportunity to select the very best fruit from the tree, discover firsthand how apples are grown and have a great family outing all at the same time.

As we progress beyond our first quarter century in business, we would like to say Thank You to all our customers who have helped us “grow” and flourish over the years. We look forward to your continued support.
